Sen. Patty Ritchie has endorsed six county legislature candidates running for seats in St. Lawrence County.
Candidates endorsed by Ritchie include:
• Larry Denesha, who is challenging incumbent Democrat Frederick S. Morrill in District 6, which includes the town of DeKalb, Russell, Fine and Clifton, as well as the town and village of Hermon. Both live in the town of DeKalb Denesha is a clerk of the works and project manager at Clarkson University and is retired from Alcoa.
• Travis Dann, who is challenging incumbent Donald Peck in District 5, which includes Gouverneur and DePeyster. Both live in Gouverneur. Dann is a retired New York State Police sergeant and station commander. He is president of the Gouverneur Kiwanis Club, volunteers as an assistant varsity football coach and is active with the Methodist Church food pantry and other programs.
• Joel LaPierre was also endorsed by Senator Ritchie. LaPierre is facing Democrat Michelle McQueer in District 4 which includes Macomb, Rossie, Fowler and Pitcairn, along with the towns and villages of Edwards and Hmmond. LaPierre, Dann and Denesha are running on the Republican, Conservative and Independence Lines in the November election.
• Joseph Timmerman, a business professor at SUNY Potsdam, who is challenging incumbent Democrat James Bunstone in District 10, which includes the Village and part of the Town of Potsdam.
• Jerry Moore, a former Parishville Town Supervisor and Code Enforcement Officer, who is challenging Rick Perkins in District 7, which includes Pierrepont, Parishville, Hopkinton, Clare, Colton and Piercefield.
• Chad Colbert, a financial analyst, small business owner and part-time instructor at Clarkson University, who is facing Democrat Ryan Warr in District 11, which includes the Town of Stockholm and part of the Town of Potsdam was also endorsed by Sen. Ritchie.
