WADDINGTON – After ending up in second place in the nationwide Ultimate Fishing Town USA contest last year, Waddington is giving it another try.
Voting for the St. Lawrence River community began this morning at http://www.worldfishingnetwork.com/uft/vote/waddington-ny
The grand prize winner in the World Fishing Network contest will receive $25,000 to be used for fishing-related causes in the winning town and a feature about the town produced and broadcast on WFN and WFN HD.
Second place winner will get $5,000 for fishing-related causes in the town; third place winner will receive $2,500.
Voting from the same e-mail address can take place four times a day, every six hours and the contest also provides for several way to score “bonus” votes. The winner is expected to be announced June 6.
Last year, the Sullivan County community of Roscoe won with 272,267 votes, compared to 270,084 for Waddington.
