MADRID -- The Seaway Valley Senior Citizens recently held elections for 2014, with officers sworn in at the Dec. 10 holiday luncheon.
Phyllis Brock was again elected President. A holiday meal was prepared by the Marine Corps League at the Madrid Community Center.
Items collected for the local food pantries in Massena, Madrid, and Waddington, as well as monetary contributions, were distributed after the meeting.
The group’s first meeting was held in 1972. It was originally named the Waddington-Madrid Senior Citizens Club.
Anyone wishing to join the Seaway Valley Senior Citizens may attend a luncheon meeting. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at noon, with the next meeting at the Waddington Methodist Church Jan. 14, 2014.
