SeaComm dedicates Potsdam headquarters to Gary B. Fuller

POTSDAM -- SeaComm President and Chief Executive Officer Scott A. Wilson, along with Board Chairman Myron Burns, officially announced the dedication of its headquarters boardroom to long time Board Secretary Gary B. Fuller.  His ongoing contributions to the growth of the credit union were recognized during an unveiling ceremony of the “Gary B. Fuller Boardroom” on June 6, 2018, followed by a reception attended by Gary’s family, SeaComm board members, and various SeaComm staff members.

“This is a concrete way for us to honor Gary Fuller’s ongoing commitment to SeaComm and its membership.” states President and Chief Executive Officer Scott Wilson. “He has been at the governance level from day one and for more than five decades has proven himself to be a guiding influence to ensure the credit union stayed true to its mission of taking care of people.” says Wilson.

Unlike some financial institutions where directors are paid, credit union directors volunteer their service and Mr. Fuller has been volunteering his expertise for 55 years.  He was not one of the original charter members, but he joined shortly after the initial charter was formed.   Fuller spent his first year on the credit committee and second year on the supervisory committee.  In 1965 he was elected to the Board of Directors and was assigned the seat of Board Secretary, which he has held ever since.

With his guidance and that of fellow Board members, SeaComm currently serves 45,000 members with over $540 million in assets through a branch network that includes six full-service branches, administrative offices in its headquarter building, shared branching and ATM networks as well as 24/7 ActivEdge automated teller machines. SeaComm is open to persons who live, work (or regularly conduct business in), worship or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entities located in St. Lawrence, Franklin, Clinton, Essex Counties, New York and Grand Isle, Chittenden and Franklin Counties, Vermont.
