Scattered showers, strong winds expected in St. Lawrence County through Friday; warm and dry weather predicted early next week

There will be a few lingering showers this morning accompanied by cloudy and seasonably cool weather before a strong warm front pushes through the St. Lawrence Valley bringing more rain through Friday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Today will be cloudy with a slight chance of rain through the afternoon with highs in the upper 40s and a 30 percent chance of rain, NWS says.

More rain is expected overnight with lows in the upper 40s.

Friday morning thunderstorms and rain showers are possible through Friday afternoon. Winds will be strong at 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 35 to 45 mph in the afternoon. Highs should be in the lower 60s.

The forecast for Friday night is breezy with lows in the mid 30s, winds of 15 to 20 mph and gusts of 35 mph.

Things will begin to dry out later in the day on Saturday and into Sunday with 60s predicted for early next week.

Friday

Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 3pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 3pm and 5pm. Cloudy, with a high near 63. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday Night

A 30 percent chance of showers after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. Breezy, with a southwest wind 18 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Saturday

A 30 percent chance of showers before 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 46. West wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Sunny, with a high near 57. West wind around 10 mph.
