In the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting St. Lawrence County offices will observe a moment of silence Friday at 9:30 a.m.
The request came from Connecticut Governor Daniel Malloy who asked State’s Governor to help commemorate the lives of those lost in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings last Friday.
St. Lawrence County will place the flag at half-staff on Friday and encourage local churches to observe the request of the Gov. Malloy and “ring their bells 26 times during that moment in honor of each life taken at Sandy Hook Elementary School.”
“Let us all come together collectively to mourn the loss of far too many promising lives at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Though we will never know the full measure of sorrow experienced by these families, we can let them know that we stand with them during this difficult time,” Gov. Malloy said in his request.
