OGDENSBURG -- The Salvation Army hopes people will help to close an $8,000 gap so far in the Ogdensburg unit’s collections for the holiday season.
“And we’re always looking for more tenders,” the bell-ringers who draw people to the collection kettles, said Lt. Stacy McNeil.
The tenders are “100 percent volunteers, so all the money we collect goes back to the community,” instead of paying the bell-ringers, McNeil said.
The appeal ends on Christmas Eve.
