OGDENSBURG -- The family of Sabrina L. Reese has established a memorial scholarship account in memory of the high school junior who died of a brain aneurysm in December.
The account at Seacomm Federal Credit Union in Ogdensburg will give an annual scholarship of $200 to a graduating student from Ogdensburg Free Academy who has met the criteria established by the family with the guidance of school personnel.
The first scholarship will be received by a member of the class of 2012.
Reese was a junior at Ogdensburg Free Academy and a BOCES cosmotology student. She was a truly unique young woman who advised her friends, laughed easily and often, had a style that was completely hers, including her hair color which was changed on a regular basis and often to a bright color.
She ran track, played basketball, played, sang and wrote music and truly loved people and her life. Sabrina passed away on Dec. 8, 2011 from complications of a brain aneurysm.
The scholarship fund was established following the strong encouragement of her friends, family and other interested parties.
Those who wish to donate to the not-for-profit scholarship account may do so at Seacomm.
