Assemblywoman Addie Russell has been appointed as chair of the Assembly Subcommittee on Women Veterans.
This subcommittee examines issues related to women veterans, such as the transition from a combat zone to civilian life, and the availability of benefits for women veterans.
New York has the fourth largest women veterans’ population in the United States, according to Russell.
Russell says her focus will be on health care needs, and inequities in the military.
