CANTON -- A $600,000 project to replace the deck on State Rt. 68 over Grannis Brook southeast of the village is due to begin Monday, creating new headaches for drivers around Canton.
The project will require closure of Rt. 68 possibly through the end of November.
Traffic will be rerouted using detours on U.S. Rt. 11 and State Rt. 56.
The village is enduring a two-year project rebuilding U.S. 11 – Main Street – for about a mile from Stiles Avenue to Riverside Drive, which is requiring detours, road closures and tie-ups to traffic.
