GOUVERNEUR -- Following a Thursday afternoon traffic stop on County Route 12 in the town of Gouverneur, three North Country residents were charged with drug possession, according to state police.
Nicole M. Sourwine, 40, Alexandria, (driver) was charged at 3:55 p.m. with second-degree criminal possession of materials use to manufacture methamphetamine and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors, troopers said. She was found in possession of methamphetamine oil and Sudafed, police said.
Desiree M. Wilmarth, 28, Rossie, (back seat passenger) was charged with second-degree criminal possession of materials use to manufacture methamphetamine at 4:15 p.m. She also possessed Sudafed, troopers said.
Nicholas A. Austill, 26, LaFargeville, (front seat passenger) was cited for petit larceny at 3:35 p.m. He allegedly stole lithium batteries from the Dollar General, according to troopers.
They were issued appearance tickets for Gouverneur Town July 21 at 9 a.m.
