The Friends of the Robert Moses State Park Nature Center are hosting their Jr. Earth Keepers Club meeting on July 12 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Kids will learn all about birds including habitats, migration and what makes a bird a bird.
Using iPad apps and bird “Identi-flyers,” kids will hear different bird calls and play bird games. They will take a guided hike and, using apps and guide books, identify the types of birds found on the trails.
Findings will be documented with digital cameras and in journals.
Photos will be uploaded onto the Jr. Earth Keepers Facebook page.
Participants should meet the Nature Center trailhead and dress for weather. Children should be 5 to 12 years old and have an interest in nature and outdoor activity.
Registration: 705-5022 or ncrebirth@yahoo.com.
