Rivers, streams and roads may flood as rain hits St. Lawrence County, National Weather Service says

Heavy rainfall across St. Lawrence County could flood small rivers and streams and make driving dangerous as water pools on roads, according to the National Weather Service.

Although the downfalls are expected to slow in the late morning rain will continue though the next several days, which may continue to cause flooding.

A seven day forecast follows:

Today: Showers. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 72. Northeast wind 13 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Tonight: A 40 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 57. Northeast wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Saturday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 74. Southwest wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. West wind around 5 mph becoming north after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. North wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
