OGDENSBURG -- North Country Shriners Noble Jim Boyce and Noble Gene Jones were given 7.6 pounds of aluminum can pull-tabs from RiverLedge resident Rob Bouchey.
It takes approximately 1,600 pull-tabs to equal 1 pound. Pull-tabs have a premium value because the recycling companies knows they are getting clean aluminum.
All money received from the pull-tabs by the Shriners is forwarded to the Montreal Shriners Hospital in Montreal, Quebec. They provide free burn and orthopedic care for anyone under 21 years old.
Any individual or organization wishing to partner with Mr. Bouchey in collecting aluminum pull-tabs for the Shriners can contact the RiverLedge Activities Department at 393-0730 ext. 2473.
The RiverLedge Residence is a not-for-profit adult residence, serving St. Lawrence County and the North Country for more than 30 years.
