Retired Supreme Court Justice and two state senators endorse Gouvernuer resident Mary Farley for Supreme Court

GOUVERNEUR -- Republican and Reform Party nominee for NYS Supreme Court, 4th Judicial District, Mary Farley has recieved endorsements from a retired North Country Supreme Court Justice and two state sentators.

Farley has been Principal Law Clerk for just-retired St. Lawrence County based New York State Supreme Court Justice Demarest since 1994.

Demarest, who lives in Potsdam, said:

“It is without reservation that I say she is the most highly qualified candidate for Supreme Court Justice on the ballot … It is her keen desire to be fair, understanding and knowledgeable that will make her an exemplary judge.”

North Country Congresswoman Elise Stefanik said:

"I'm pleased to endorse the candidacy of Mary Farley for New York Supreme Court. With nearly 22 years of experience with the Supreme Court, her knowledge and experience uniquely qualify her to serve our residents."

State Senator Hugh Farley (not related) said:

“Hailing from St. Lawrence County – geographically the largest county in the entire state – Mary Farley would keep significant and important representation for the north country on the Supreme Court … Mary Farley has my wholehearted support for election to the Supreme Court, and I urge my fellow voters to cast their ballots for her on November 3.”

Mary Farley’s candidacy has also been endorsed by the Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers, Inc.; Central New York Community Action Program (CAP) Council, United Auto Workers Region 9; International Union of Operating Engineers, Upstate New York Operating Engineers Local 158, Districts 106, 545 and 832 (Affiliated with the AFL-CIO); Jefferson, Lewis & St. Lawrence Counties Central Trades & Labor Council, AFL-CIO; Northern NY SOAR Chapter 4-AB1 (Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees); Teamsters 687, Potsdam NY; Teamsters Joint Council 18; Teamsters Local 294; United Steelworkers Local 420-A and United Steelworkers Local 450-A.

She is endorsed by five of the six constituted Conservative Committees in the 4th Judicial District - the St. Lawrence, Franklin, Saratoga, Warren and Washington County Conservative Committees. The sixth constituted committee, the Schenectady Conservative Committee, did not hold an endorsement meeting.

Farley has also received the “Highly Qualified” endorsement of the New York State Federation of Republican Women and the endorsement of the Saratoga Women’s Republican Club.

Farley graduated from Albany Law School of Union University in 1992. She practiced law privately at the Albany, NY law firm of Roemer & Featherstonhaugh, P.C. before becoming the Principal Law Clerk for St. Lawrence County based New York State Supreme Court Justice Demarest in 1994.
