POTSDAM – Republican candidate Mary Rain announces today the launch of what she is calling “Accountability Tour” in the race for St. Lawrence County District Attorney.
“There are far too many crimes in St. Lawrence County where victims are left by the wayside; left without resolution, without closure, without justice. My Accountability Tour will highlight the critical choice voters face on November 5th,” said Rain in a news release.
“In Potsdam I begin my tour and discuss some of the many cases where the current DA has failed to ensure justice.”
Rain says she will “draw on her three decades of experience as a police officer, prosecutor, and defense attorney to lead the St. Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office,” the news release said. “Rain’s platform includes a renewed focus on timely prosecutions, technological upgrades, and improved communications with law enforcement partners.”
“This election comes down to a very clear choice. If you, your spouse, your child, your parent, or your loved one is a victim of crime tonight who would you want prosecuting your case?” said Rain.
The candidate, who is challenging Democratic incumbent St. Lawrence County District Attorney Nicole Duvé, has scheduled a news conference at Potsdam’s Civic Center for 5:30 p.m. today.
