POTSDAM — A Potsdam man was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated Saturday afternoon following a complaint of an unconscious person inside a vehicle on Clarkson Avenue, according to Potsdam police.
Michael J. Peters, 44, was charged with first-offense aggravated DWI at 2:36 p.m., police said.
Officers allegedly detected an odor of alcohol coming from the subject, who was conscious at the time police arrived.
Peters was asked to complete a series of roadside sobriety checks, which he failed, officers said.
He also provided a roadside breath sample, which determined his blood-alcohol content (BAC) to be over the legal limit, officers said.
He was transported to the police station, process and released on tickets returnable in Potsdam court at a later date.
