"Elise for Congress," Rep. Elise Stefanik's campaign organization, has announced the launch of a new ad and website aimed at her Democratic opponent.
TaxinTedra.com paints Democratic primary winner Tedra Cobb of Canton as a "liberal tax and spend Democrat," according to Stefanik's campaign spokesman Lenny Alcivar.
Cobb beat out four other Democrats in a primary vote Tuesday in the North Country's 21st Congressional District for the right to represent the party in the November election, where Elise Stefanik, a Republican from Willsboro, hopes to win her third term.
Alcivar said he will use Cobb's record as a St. Lawrence County legislator to pin the "tax and spend" label on her.
"One of the strategic mistakes of the Democratic primary is that it didn't highlight the significant vulnerabilities of Tedra Cobb's tax-and-spend, liberal voting record. She was the only candidate who had a voting record, and we look forward to ensuring North Country voters are familiar with this tax raising record come Election Day," said Alcivar.
