KNAPPS STATION -- Congressman Bill Owens recently visited a managed forest, a registered Tree Farm in Knapps Station owned by Bill and Doris LaPoint.

Congressman Owens was interested with the concerns of the forest owners and plans to address them in the 2012 Farm Bill when he returns to Washington.

The conversation focused on invasive species, mgt programs, markets and jobs, renewable energy to replace fossil fuels, the abundance of and growth of forests in this area and forest fires.
