Rep. Owens to hold telephone town hall on economy Monday

Posted

Congressman Bill Owens will hold a telephone town hall Monday, March 19, to discuss New York jobs, the economy and other issues.

Owens will update callers about the push to create quality New York jobs and take questions from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.

To date, Owens says he has connected with more than 100,000 constituents through telephone town halls.

A random sample of residents in New York’s 23rd Congressional District will be chosen to participate in the conference call.

To request a phone call invitation, a constituent from NY-23 can sign up by emailing their name and complete phone number to ny23townhall@mail.house.gov; calling the Congressman’s Washington office at 202-225-4611; or filling out the form provided at http://owens.house.gov/Contact/TeletownHall.htm.

“We have seen several consecutive months of private sector job growth, but more must be done to create more jobs,” Owens said. “I am pleased to provide a forum to update constituents on my efforts to reduce unnecessary regulations and help small businesses hire and expand in our region. This is a great opportunity for New Yorkers to ask me questions, share what is on their mind, or just listen to the conversation.”

Those unable to participate in Monday’s telephone town hall can contact Owens by calling any of his offices in New York or Washington, visiting his website at http://owens.house.gov, connecting with him on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/repbillowens, or follow him on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/BillOwensNY.
