DEPEYSTER — A Rensselaer Falls man was arrested Sunday on Newcomb road after grabbing a victim by the throat, dragging the person down a hallway and throwing the victim down the front steps, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.

John J. Page, 26, was charged with third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing, officers said.

The victim was allegedly grabbed by the throat, dragged down a hallway and later thrown down steps at 140 Newcomb Rd.

The victim sustained injured during the incident, deputies said.

Page was arraigned in Macomb Town Court and released on his own recognizance, officers said.

An order of protection was issued in favor of the victim, deputies said.
