RENSSELAER FALLS – The village intends to revise its zoning regulations to include commercial zones.

The village’s Land Use Committee has set an open meeting for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15 in the village office at 212 Rensselaer St.

Discussion will focus on the creation of a commercial zoning district and the uses that will be allowed in a commercial zone.

“The Village wants to make sure it can accommodate commercial uses in our community while being mindful of our residential neighborhoods,” said Mayor Jeffrey Dollinger. “We want to make sure there are appropriate places where new businesses can successfully operate without disrupting their neighbors.”

The Rensselaer Falls Land Use Committee meetings are open to the public. Anyone who would like to learn more about the creation of a commercial zone is encouraged to attend.

Staff from the St. Lawrence County Planning Office will facilitate the meeting.
