OGDENSBURG -- The Frederic Remington Art Museum, 303 Washington St., is seeking donations for its 27th annual fundraising Gala.
The silent auction committee is asking for help finding items to go with their theme, An Early American Christmas, on Saturday, December 11 from 7 to 11 p.m. In addition to the normal auction collection, the museum is searching for antiques and collectables that support their theme (e.g. quilts, baskets, wooden sports equipment, art, saws, crocks, copper washtubs etc.) to place in an online auction on the museum's website.
The silent auction portion of the Gala is a great way for business donors to support a great cultural institution and also provide a wonderful holiday shopping experience for guests.
For many, this could be an opportunity to donate heirlooms to a good cause without going to the trouble of finding the right place to sell them. All donations are tax deductible. The museum is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization.
To let the museum know if you have an item to donate, call as early as possible. Their hope is to begin in early summer, both online and at the museum.
Contact Carol Beckner at 375-8917, Debby Hirschey at 324-6760, or the museum at 393-2425.
Items can be dropped off at 311 Washington St. along with its approximate retail value, and a brief description and the name of the donator.
Pick up assistance is available.
