OGDENSBURG -- The second installment of the regional best-selling Adirondack Treasure series, “Isle Royale,” will be released March 20 in Ogdensburg.
A release party will be held at the City of Ogdensburg Recreation Center, 100 Riverside Ave., at 7 p.m., sponsored by the Fort la Présentation Association.
The book, authored by Matthew J. Glavin and Michael J. Dolan of Cranberry Lake, features a legendary treasure buried on an island in the St. Lawrence River during the French and Indian War.
The island, known today as Chimney Island, is located three miles from Ogdensburg. It was the site of Fort Lévis, a French fort, and was the location of the final battle of the war on what was to become American soil.
The story also includes Middle Eastern terrorists working with North Korea and planning on releasing a missile with a super-electromagnetic pulse warhead from a ship in the St. Lawrence River. The treasure hunters become entangled in the terrorists’ plot.
“The first book in the series, Adirondack Treasure – The Bonaparte Legacy, was released less than three years ago and quickly became a Regional Best Seller,” according to Rob Igoe, Jr., president of North Country Books. “Bonaparte has been a best-seller almost since its release, and we expect an even bigger response from Isle Royale,” Igoe said.
Glavin is the author of “Adirondack Treasure: The Bonaparte Legacy,” the first book in the series.
Dolan is retired from the state police. He served as the medical officer for the state police Hazardous Materials and WMD response team in Northern New York.
Glavin and Dolan will sign books, with $10 from each book purchase donated to the Fort la Présentation Association.
“Isle Royale” will be available from Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Kinney Drugs and local bookstores.
