CANTON – SUNY Canton has opened registration for this year’s Winterterm courses, which will run from Dec. 21 through Jan. 17.
More than 100 online courses are being offered and the college anticipates another year of record enrollments.
The entirely online courses can be accessed via computer from anywhere, reducing travel expenses and winter commuting difficulties.
Last year's Winterterm was the largest in SUNY Canton's history. Nearly 1,200 students from 204 colleges and universities spent their winter break taking a class during Winterterm, a 46 percent increase in enrollment since 2009-10. The session was more than seven times larger than the 160 students who enrolled in the first Winterterm session six years ago.
In 2010-11, more than 75 percent of the enrollments came from institutions other than SUNY Canton.
This year's session offers a comprehensive list of general education and elective courses, and courses in business, finance, nursing, computer science, criminal justice, social science, history, and other disciplines."
