POTSDAM -- The American Red Cross of Northern New York is offering adult CPR training July 21 and first aid training July 22 at the Red Cross offices at 73 Market St.
These courses teach individuals how to identify and respond to emergency situations by checking to see if it is safe to intervene. Attendees will learn the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life and to minimize pain and the consequences of injury or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives: how to reduce the risk of heart attacks and injury, and how to care for someone whose heart has stopped beating or who stops breathing, or who is choking.
The registration fees are $35 for Adult CPR and $35 for Standard First Aid. The cost for both courses is $45. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required by Tuesday, July 20. The instructor is Phil Wagner.
