FORT JACKSON -- Volunteers from the North Country Chapter of the American Red Cross provided emergency aid to four people after a fire early Saturday morning on Converse Road.
The names of those affected by the fire were not immediately available.
The Red Cross provided financial assistance for food, clothing, shoes and seasonal items to two adults and two children, ages 3 and 12. Volunteers also supplied comfort kits containing personal care items and stuffed animals for the children.
In the coming days, Red Cross staffers said they and volunteers will remain available to help those affected by the fire.
The Red Cross assistance is provided free of charge and made possible by donations from the public.
