MASSENA -- This morning’s -20 degree thermometer reading was the lowest ever recorded at the National Weather Service recording station in Massena, according to WeatherUnderground.com.
The previous record low was -14 degrees in 2003. The record high was 55 degrees in 1974.
Temperatures today began moderating, and the National Weather Service is predicting a low of 2 degrees above zero tonight. Highs are expected to be near 35 on Friday and 34 on Saturday.
