Record highs were recorded for the fourth straight day in Canton, Ogdensburg, Potsdam, Massena, Gouverneur, and Star Lake as temps reaching into the upper-80s across the county, according to The Weather Underground.

Highs topped out at 89 in Potsdam and Massena which topped the previous record of 82 degrees in 2003, Weather Underground said. The reading was recorded at the official National Weather Station at Massena's Richards Field.

Temperatures of 88 degrees were recorded in Canton and Ogdensburg which broke the previous record of 82 degrees in 1970.

Gouverneur and Star Lake broke their record as highs of 87 were recorded yesterday at KGTB Wheeler-Sack International Airport in Fort Drum, which is the nearest National Weather Service recording station for the southern portion of the county. The previous record of 81 degrees was recorded in 2011.

Today will much, much cooler, with highs only expected to reach the lower-60s, according forecasters.
