MASSENA -- A new record high temperature was set for today's date, as spring-like temperatures blew into the St. Lawrence Valley.
The noon reading of 67 degrees at the official National Weather Service station at Massena's Richards Field beat the previous record of 63 set in 1982.
Today’s high temperature came up just short of the record high for any day in December of 68 degrees.
The average high temperature for Dec. 4 in Massena is 31 degrees, according to NWS records.
The record low for today's date is minus 10, set in 1976.
