OGDENSBURG – A half-dozen men and women dressed in clothing and military attire from the Revolutionary War period were on hand last weekend during the dedication of a new monument in Groulx Park.

The monument was erected this summer, but the official dedication took place during Ogdensburg’s Veteran’s Day ceremony

The Swe-kat-si Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution raised the funds necessary for the Patriots Monument, with donations from Witherbee & Whalen, City of Ogdensburg, northern NY Sons of the American Revolution, American Legion posts 69, 420 and 1342, VFW Post 2936 AmVets posts 19 and 1997, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 69, Mort Backus & Sons and Preston and Joan Carlisle.
