MASSENA -- A Raymondville man is facing 14 counts, including four felonies, for allegedly making purchases and attempting to make withdrawals with stolen debit cards.
Preston S. Premo, 26, of Woodlawn Avenue, Raymondville is charged with two counts each of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and second-degree forgery. He is also charged with six counts of petit larceny and four counts of attempted petit larceny, all misdemeanors, police said.
On Sept. 10, Premo allegedly used two stolen debit cards to purchase from Walmart an Xbox One video game console, controllers and video games for $414.41 and a lighter, activated phone card and Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone for $590.31, according to Massena Village Court officials.
He also allegedly bought a red bowl from Walmart for $2.25, a lighter from Sunoco for $2.15, a purchase from McDonald’s for $6.66 and a purchase from Tim Horton’s for $2.27. In addition to that, he tried to withdraw $800 from a Key Bank ATM and $400 from a Twin River Federal Credit Union ATM, but they were denied, court officials said.
Premo was charged Thursday at 4 p.m., arraigned in Massena court and released after posting $2,000 bail, according to court officials.
Police say more charges could be filed.
