NORFOLK -- A Raymondville man was charged with seven felonies Friday, Sept. 28 after a hit-and-run that occurred around 4 p.m. on Sept. 17 on Marsh Road.
State police said car parts, including a Buick emblem from the vehicle Bethel was driving, were recovered at the scene.
The Buick was later found on Sept. 18 in a wooded area not far from the scene, police said.
The victims were treated for minor injuries at Canton-Potsdam Hospital and released, police said.
After an investigation, state police determined that Bethel was the operator and lone occupant of the Buick that struck the motorcycle.
Police say the vehicle did not belong to Bethel and he did not have the owner’s permission to drive it.
He was subsequently charged with seven felonies, including two counts each of first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree assault, and single counts of third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal mischief and first-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Bethel was arraigned in Norfolk town court and released under probationary supervision, police said.
