Rains showers likely tonight in St. Lawrence County, warmer weather expected through weekend

An upper level disturbance will bring scattered rain showers through the North Country Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Precipitation will end early Saturday morning, leaving a sunny day in the high 40s, the service said.

Clouds will return Sunday, bringing more rain Sunday night and into Monday. However, Sunday temperatures are likely to reach near 60, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

April Fools’ Day is likely to be in the low 40s and rainy, the service said.

• Late Afternoon: Scattered showers. Cloudy, with a high near 47. West wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

• Tonight: Scattered rain and snow showers before 11pm, then a slight chance of snow showers between 11pm and midnight. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 29. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

• Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 48. Light southwest wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

• Saturday Night: Clear, with a low around 27. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm.

• Sunday: Rain likely, mainly after 5pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 57. South wind 6 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

• Sunday Night: Rain, mainly before 3am. Low around 35. Southwest wind 11 to 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
