A low-pressure system is expected to sweep through the North Country today, moving southward before swinging back into the area as a warm front Tuesday night.

The warm front will likely bring rain showers and a few thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.

The service predicts periodic heavy rains and some thunderstorms through Thursday, with above average temperatures.

Cooler and drier weather is expected to return for Memorial Day weekend, the service said.
