Snow possible Friday night and Saturday as rain to continue in North Country

Wet and windy conditions will dominate North Country weather at least through Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Today's rain is expected to taper off this afternoon after rainfall of up to a quarter of an inch. It will be breezy with gusts of nearly 30 mph, and the high in the 50s.

Rain and showers will continue tonight, along with strong wind gusts and lows in the 40s, the NWS predicts.

Friday will see more showers and even stronger wind gusts, getting closer to 40 mph, with high temps not reaching 50 degrees, the Weather Service says.

Winds will ease somewhat Friday night, but low temperatures in the low 30s could bring with them some snowflakes to mix in with the continuing rain.

As it stands now, the NWS says there could be snow showers Saturday and it will still be a bit windy, with breezes up to about 15 mph.

Winds will diminish and skies will clear somewhat Saturday night, the forecast says.
