Radio stations B99.3 and STAR 100.1 and their partners have begun collecting “Coats for Kids” through collection points in the Canton and Potsdam area.
New or gently used coats can be dropped off at a number of participating locations listed below for distribution to folks in need.
The coats will be distributed through two local service agencies, the Potsdam Holiday Fund and The Canton Church and Community Program.
Jeff Demo, owner of Potsdam Laundry, has offered to launder any used coats that come through that may need a little refreshing.
B 99.3 will broadcast live from several locations during November to bring awareness to the effort and collect coats.
Donations will be taken through Nov. 30 for distribution before the holidays.
Coats can be dropped off at:
• Save A Lot stores in Potsdam and Canton
• Potsdam Ponderosa
• Bicknell Appliance and Home Interiors in Potsdam
• Summer Haven Pool, Spa and Hearth in Potsdam
• St. Lawrence Supply in Potsdam
• Ebens Hearth Restaurant in Potsdam
• Potsdam Laundry and Drycleaning
• LeBerge and Curtis, Canton
• Colton Glass in Canton
• Potsdam Agway
• Americas Mattress Potsdam
• Potsdam Parts Plus
• LeBerge and Curtis Rental in Canton
“We want to thank everyone who has donated a coat or coats so far. The need is really great and so is the appreciation from local families,” said radio station general manager John Winter.
