CANTON – A Pyrites man was arrested January 29 for driving while intoxicated following a snowmobile accident, according to Canton-based state police.
Troopers say they responded to a reported accident at 2:40 p.m. and discovered Peter W. Wimmer, 53, to be the driver.
Wimmer was charged with first-offense DWI, imprudent speed on a snowmobile, operating a snowmobile without liability insurance and for having an unregistered snowmobile, officers said.
Police said he was released on his own recognizance and will answer the charges at a later date.
