With baby Beau, from left, are her brother, Zackary Gardner, 7; their parents, Jeannie Lanning and Don Anson of Pyrites; and Potsdam Hospital Guild members Mary VanLeuven and Joanne Hudson, who presented the family with a basket with blankets, books, baby essentials and handmade items, on behalf of all the volunteers in the guild.

POTSDAM – Beau Marie Anson was welcomed into the world at Canton-Potsdam Hospital at 9:48 a.m. Jan. 2, the first baby born at the hospital in the new year, weighing in at 6 pounds, 10.2 ounces and measuring 20 inches head to toe.

While she was not the first baby born in the county in 2014, she was a first this year for CPH and for delivering physician Dr. William Murray.

Beau’s maternal grandparents are Roberta Osgood and John Coffey of Pyrites. Her paternal grandparents are Linden and Angela Anson of Richville.
