OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg City Council appointed City Manager Sarah Purdy to another three-year term Monday.

The Former Yates County Administrator, Purdy took the city Ogdensburg city manager position starting Dec. 6. 2015.

She has been working to help the struggling city overcome financial difficulties since taking the helm. During her time as manager the city has completed its Paterson Street project and the city’s massive Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Purdy has faced several tight budget seasons and has worked with council to get delinquent tax properties back on the tax rolls.

Purdy also implemented public updates, which are now posted on the city’s website and help bring transparency to the council’s activities.

Mayor Wayne Ashley and city councilors offered her praise for the work she has accomplished and unanimously reappointed her for the 3-year-term. The mayor said Purdy was leading by example by taking a modest raise. Her salary increased from $112,500 to $118,000.
