This summer, WPBS will show a new documentary program, “The Raquette River Experience.”
The program, premiering Sunday, July 29 at 6 and 10:30 p.m., showcases the Raquette River, a waterway marvel that drops over 1,500 feet in its 174-mile route from Blue Mountain Lake, 20 miles south of Tupper Lake, to the St. Lawrence River at Akwesasne.
This river, its businesses, the recreation, and history of this region are highlighted in the program.
After the premiere, the program will be broadcast on Watertown-based public television station WPBS-TV Monday, July 31 at 7:30 p.m., and on more dates in August.
There will also be free screenings at the Hawkins Point Visitors Center in Massena at 1 p.m. July 30, and at Clarkson University’s Student Center Multi-Purpose Room in Potsdam Aug. 1 at 4 p.m.
