HAMMOND -- Residents will have a chance to comment on a proposed joint-comprehensive plan aimed at developing the Town and Village of Hammond.
The meeting scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. is aimed at gathering public input on the proposed community development plan created over the past several months with help from county planners.
The 93-page document includes goals and recommendations for on a range of categories including agriculture, business, governance, housing, industry, infrastructure and land use.
Similar to a community development plan, the document will allow the town and village to pursue a variety of grants.
Town Supervisor Ron Bertram said plans are in place to form a joint village/town committee to implement the plan once it is finalized. He said he envisions the committee acting similarly to a chamber of commerce.
The plan is currently available for review on-line at:
