MASSENA -- A 23-year-old Massena resident is facing a plethora of charges after allegedly damaging a telephone pole on South Main Street in Massena.
Donna L. Doman of 90 East Hatfield St. is facing one count each of reckless driving, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operation and failure to stay in lane.
She is also facing two counts each of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument.
Patrolmen Tyler Condlin and Jayden Pernice were responding to a report of a red pickup truck hitting a telephone pole near Sunoco on South Main Street and speeding off toward Cook Street around 1 a.m. Friday.
They allegedly discovered Doman in the vehicle on Cook Street, passed out behind the wheel in a diabetic coma. A search of the vehicle allegedly yielded crack cocaine, powder cocaine, a switchblade knife, and two hypodermic needles with no prescription.
The police report stated Doman was transported to Massena Memorial Hospital to be stabilized because of the severity of her diabetic shock, where she remained Friday afternoon.
She has yet to be arraigned.
