Professional rescuers, others offered CPR/AED certification

POTSDAM – If you are you interested in becoming certified in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, or would like to maintain your skills, The American Red Cross of Northern New York is offering CPR for the Professional Rescuer on Saturday, July 17 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Red Cross office, 73 Market St.

This course teaches those with a duty to act (professional rescuers, healthcare providers, lifeguards) the skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies. This includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for a victim of cardiac arrest.

The cost of the course is $65. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. The instructor is Sheila Cerwonka.
