WADDINGTON -- The Professional Equine Group’s recent banner day raised over $5,000 for the St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund.
The event had 40 vendor booths and several sponsors.
Over 500 people attended the seven different clinics put on by the group at the Loomis Quarter Horse farm in Waddington.
The St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund evolved from the Edward I. Moses Walk and Run for Life, started in 1979.
Recently, this group has expanded efforts to other events such as this event to provide additional funds to people in St Lawrence County to prevent, educate and assist the residents of St Lawrence County in dealing with all cancer.
“This one event held by the Professional Equine Group will allow the fund to serve more to the people of St. Lawrence County in fighting cancer. We are grateful to the hard working people who put this event on for picking the St Lawrence County Cancer Fund as the recipient,” Mark Brackett, board member of St Lawrence County Cancer Fund said in a news release.
