The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and local police departments will be taking part in a nationwide prescription drug take-back day Saturday, Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The sheriff, along with police in Canton, Gouverneur, Massena, Potsdam and Ogdensburg so residents can drop off expired, unused or unwanted pills at each location.
The take-back is for environmental reasons, and as a way to prevent drug abuse and crimes associated with trying to gain access to the drugs.
They ask that you not bring auto-injectables or hypodermic needles.
The program is free and no questions will be asked.
