The majority of homes and businesses that lost power in Potsdam this afternoon have had electricity restored.
While National Grid reported more than 1,300 customers in the town were without service at approximately 3 p.m., only 153 customers remained in the dark as of 5:30 p.m.
WPDM/99 Hits radio, was among the businesses that went black, but is now back broadcasting.
Another outage involving fewer than five customers was reported near Hopkinton. Power there is expected to be restored this evening, according to the power distribution company.
There was lightning reported in the vicinity at the time the power went out.
