POTSDAM — Total Image, which has operated in downtown for 24 years, has a new home and is downsizing from seven stylists to a mother and daughter duo.
Lisa Cary, owner, runs the shop alongside her daughter Brittany Cary.
In an effort to downsize, the business moved Oct. 3 from 8 Market St. to 75 Market St., at the back of the building where Downtown Sports & Toys (formerly The Cornerstore) was.
Cary said she has been sole owner of Total Image for about four years, after owning it with four other women in a partnership for about 20 years before that.
She said she and her daughter were looking for a less hectic environment and wanted to concentrate on their own clientele.
Cary wished her former co-workers the best in their new ventures.
They will no longer offer tanning services. They will continue to offer a variety of hair services including cuts, as well as manicures, pedicures and body waxing.
Cary said she had heard from her landlord that an access road could possibly be added from Constitution Street, but nothing has been finalized.
She said proper signage and the fact that Total Image has been around for 24 years will help people find the salon.
Hours are flexible Monday through Saturday and appointments can be made at 268-6825. Early morning and night appointments can be made. Walk-ins are welcome.
“Thanks to all the customers who have followed and supported us over the years,” Cary said.
The building is handicapped accessible and offers lots of free parking.
