POTSDAM – The Siam Class Inn & Spa was selected as a winner in the LUX magazine 2015 Hotel & Spa Awards.
The Siam Class Inn & Spa, 62 Elm St, is the only Thai-style bed and breakfast in North America, according to LUX.
Guests can choose from three rooms in the Victorian home that highlight Thai heritage and traditions. The home is decorated with photographs, artwork and furniture from Thailand and guests can enjoy a Thai breakfast and a cotton robe by a Tiffany lamp in a room filled with Thai-inspired scents.
“Being the first and only Thai-style bed and breakfast in all of North America, we by definition are a stand out in our field,” owner John Lindsey said.
The owners say they travel to Thailand for at least four weeks in order to provide an authentic Thai experience.
These prestigious awards recognize some of the finest hotels, spas, getaways and retreats anywhere in the world.
“Looking toward the future, we are very optimistic. Even externally, the improving U.S. economy has inspired people to travel more within North American this year. Staying at our inn in upstate New York provides our clients with an opportunity to experience a taste of Thai culture, perhaps inspiring them to actually someday visit Thailand,” Lindsey said.
