POTSDAM -- A new playground set will replace the deteriorating 30-year-old equipment at Lawrence Avenue Elementary School this summer.
Principal Larry Jenne said the playground area at the school will be closed during August, and that the new equipment will be ready by the first week of September.
The new GameTime set is made of plastic and metal, Jenne said. It will have a simulated tree trunk in the middle.
Jenne said the old set was in bad condition, and was to be replaced for “the safety of our children.”
